Knee Disorders: My knee is inflamed and track season starts soon?

My knee is inflamed and track season starts soon?I was wondering if i can do anything to my inflamed knee to make it feel better
and to make it stop hurting, or hurt less while i run.
I'm going to continue icing it
and would like one of those light knee braces do anything to help it?

I need it to heal soon so i can run for track, so please answer.

You'll hate to hear it, but the best thing to do is not run on it for at least 2 weeks. You'll make it worse by running on it while it's trying to heal. If you keep running there's a chance you'll do permanent damage that will come back and bite you in future seasons. Keep icing though (ice bath rocks) and if your school has an athletic trainer see them about it.

Ice it, but never for more than 20 minutes at a time, or you'll damage it more. In between icing, put a heating pad on it. Take an NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) like Advil regularly. You'll need to rest it as much as you can, but you'll be fine to run on it very soon. The longer you're able to rest it though, the less likely there will be future injuries. Hope I could help =)

The above info is good and will help the pain and inflammation, but you haven't stated why your knee is inflamed. What structure have you injured? That will determine whether a brace is going to help you, and what type you would need - an orthotist can advise you and fit an appropriate brace.

get cruthxes, satay off of it. Tell the coaches- they can do somehting about it. maybe not particpate in the first few meets, but maybe made manager of the team? THats wat i was made for my track team becuase i cant run outside in the cold because of my asthma.. I go to all the meets but dont go to any practices. its kinda cool

so stay off of it! I may have a broken ankle right now, and have been making it worseby walking on it.. funn!!
