Knee Disorders: What is a good workout for people with knee problems?

What is a good workout for people with knee problems?I have a knee condition that makes it difficult to walk upstairs. I need some type of workout that will target the thighs and buns but doesn't require lunges.

I had arthoscopic knee surgery. I tore some cartilidge in my right knee. Walking upstairs was painful. I could feel the torn cart scratching my knee cap.
I had physical therapy both before and after surgery.
Swimming is good. Also bike riding. You can also purchase ankle weighs to keep your legs in shape.
Lastly, have your condition looked at. Get an Xray and then an MRI. Use the the RICE treatment. Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation. Rest is keeping the knee up toward your heart. Upon on an ottoman or a box at your desk. Ice packs help reduce the swelling and inflammation that cause pain. Compression would be using a knee brace. Make sure the brace does not cover the knee cap. For elevation see rest.

Hi there, something I found really non-stressful on my knees that targeted my butt, thighs and lovehandles was cycling. You can get on a stationary bike or a real on, just be sure to ride hard and keep your heart rate up for results.
Good luck finding what will work for you
